This measure would acknowledge December 17 each year as an annual "Day of Inclusion" in recognition and appreciation of the priceless contributions of all immigrants to the greatness of the United States and California.

Existing law establishes the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to review and approve applications for and issue teaching and services credentials, and authorizes the commission to levy fees for the issuance and renewal of teaching and services credentials, to be deposited into the Teacher Credentials Fund in the State Treasury. This bill would require the commission to waive all application and processing fees for the initial issuance of a teaching credential to an out-of-state applicant who relocates to California due to orders received from a branch of the United States Armed Forces that require the applicant's spouse to relocate to California.
Existing law provides for the revocation for good cause of an identification certificate or an endorsement on the certificate authorizing a retired peace officer to carry a concealed and loaded firearm, as determined in a hearing, as specified. This bill would provide a procedure for the temporary revocation of an identification certificate or an endorsement on the certificate authorizing a retired peace officer to carry a concealed and loaded firearm for conduct that compromises public safety. The bill also provides a hearing process to determine if the temporary revocation should be made permanent. The bill further provides for the waiver of the right to a revocation hearing and for the surrender of the identification certificate, as specified.
