This measure would proclaim March 23, 2024, as California STEAM Robotics Day.

This measure would, among other things, designate March 2024 as Irish American Heritage Month in honor of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Ireland and would commemorate the multitude of contributions that Irish Americans have made to this country and state.

Under existing law, a law enforcement official has limited discretion to cooperate with immigration authorities, and may only provide information regarding a person's release date or transfer an individual to immigration authorities without a judicial warrant or probable cause determination if the individual has been convicted of specified crimes, including, but not limited to, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, or crimes endangering children, as specified, and only if doing so would not violate any federal, state, or local law, or local policy. Notwithstanding those provisions, this bill would instead require law enforcement officials to cooperate with immigration authorities by detaining and transferring an individual and providing release information if a person has been convicted of a crime of sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of minors, or crimes committed against minors, as specified, or crimes committed against a minor that require registration under the Sex Offender Registration Act. By requiring local law enforcement to comply with requests from immigration authorities, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program. The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement. This bill would provide that, if the Commission on State Mandates determines that the bill contains costs mandated by the state, reimbursement for those costs shall be made pursuant to the statutory provisions noted above.

This measure would urge that priority be given to developing state energy policies that would support the implementation of a Plan B approach so that California residents and businesses will not be asked to bear the full cost of the zero-carbon aspirational goals with the full knowledge that, as a practical matter, those goals cannot be met within the timeline proposed.

This measure would urge the United States Congress to refrain from reauthorizing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act absent fundamental reform of the program, which must include requiring agencies to obtain a warrant before searching Section 702-acquired information from Americans' communications.

This measure would recognize February 2, 2024, as Wear Red Day and the month of February 2024 as American Heart Month.

This measure would recognize February 2024 as Black History Month, urge all citizens to join in celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans during Black History Month, and encourage the people of California to recognize the many talents of African Americans and the achievements and contributions they make to their communities to create equity and equality for education, economics, and social justice. The measure would also recognize the significance in protecting citizens' right to vote and remedying racial discrimination in voting.

This measure would proclaim February 16, 2024, as California Almond Day.

This measure would designate March 2024 as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in California.

This measure would declare May 23, 2024, as GM1 Gangliosidosis Awareness Day in California.
