This measure would proclaim the month of October 2023 as California Firefighter Appreciation Month and October 14, 2023, as California Firefighters Memorial Day.
This measure would proclaim November 15, 2023, as Pechanga Pu'éska Mountain Day.
This measure would proclaim the month of November 2023 as California Runaway and Homeless Youth Prevention Month to recognize the need for individuals, schools, communities, businesses, local governments, and the state to take action on behalf of runaway and homeless youth in California.

Existing federal law establishes the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) , known in California as CalFresh, under which supplemental nutrition assistance benefits allocated to the state by the federal government are distributed to eligible individuals by each county. Existing law sets forth certain requirements and exemptions for students in postsecondary education for purposes of CalFresh eligibility. Existing law requires the State Department of Social Services, no later than January 1, 2024, to publish certain data specific to students' receipt of CalFresh benefits on the department's existing CalFresh Data Dashboard, in order to assist in monitoring information about access to CalFresh by students enrolled in an institution of higher education, as defined. Existing law requires the department to update the dashboard over time as additional data become available about this population. This bill would instead require the department to update the dashboard on an annual basis and as additional data become available about that population.
This measure would declare August 2023 as Valley Fever Awareness Month.
This measure would recognize July 28 as World Hepatitis Day and would urge all California institutions, nonprofit organizations, health care organizations, businesses, community leaders, and residents to ensure screenings for hepatitis B and C, vaccinations for hepatitis B, and treatment become the standard of care.
This measure would designate October 23, 2023, as Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase (AADC) Deficiency Awareness Day in the state.
