This measure would declare September 2014 as Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease Awareness Month.
This measure would designate November as California Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month. The measure would recognize and acknowledge the significant contributions Californians of Sikh heritage have made to the state. The measure would also seek to afford all Californians the opportunity to understand, recognize, and appreciate the rich history and shared principles of Sikh Americans.
This measure would recognize the outstanding performance of California Chrome during his remarkable run for thoroughbred horse racing's Triple Crown, and, in particular, for his tremendous victories in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, would recognize and congratulate the many Californians who are part of the ownership group, breeding and training cadre, and other essential elements that led to his success, and would recognize the storied history of thoroughbred horse racing in California, the Cal-bred Program, and its contributions to job creation and the state's economy.
This measure would commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education decision.
This measure would recognize July 2014 as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in California.
Existing law prohibits a person from driving any motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer unless it is registered and the appropriate fees have been paid to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) , or it is registered under the permanent trailer identification program, except as specified. Existing law requires the DMV to issue a one-trip permit to a vehicle manufacturer or dealer, upon payment of a $35 fee, which authorizes an unregistered trailer, semitrailer, or auxiliary dolly to be moved or operated laden within the state for not more than 5 days as part of one continuous trip from the place of manufacture, dispatch, or entry into this state to a place where the vehicle will be offered for sale. This bill would extend the period in which these vehicles may operate under a permit to 10 days.
This measure would recognize the 150th anniversary of the California State Park System and would urge all Californians to join in celebrating this important anniversary of our state park system.
This measure would designate the month of September 2014 as School Attendance Awareness Month, and would encourage public officials, educators, and communities in California to observe the month with appropriate activities and programs.
This measure would declare the week of August 4, 2014, to August 10, 2014, inclusive, as Dropout Recovery Week, and would state that the Legislature intends to encourage the support of dropout recovery high schools with creative teaching strategies, alternative assessments, and adequate resources.
This measure would urge the Governor to identify evidence-based solutions to reduce children's exposure to adverse childhood experiences, address the impacts of those experiences, and invest in preventive health care and mental health and wellness interventions.
