This measure would designate the portion of U.S. Route 101 in the County of San Luis Obispo, from postmile 13.173 to postmile 17.767, as the Katcho Achadjian Memorial Highway. The measure would request the Department of Transportation to determine the cost of appropriate signs showing this special designation and, upon receiving donations from nonstate sources covering that cost, to erect those signs.

Existing law establishes various public social services programs, including, among others, the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program, CalFresh, and the Medi-Cal program. Existing federal law provides for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) , known in California as CalFresh, under which supplemental nutrition assistance benefits allocated to the state by the federal government are distributed to eligible individuals by each county. This bill would require the State Department of Social Services to seek all available federal waivers and approvals to maximize food choices for CalFresh recipients, including hot and prepared foods ready for immediate consumption.
Existing law requires the County of Los Angeles to annually submit its proposed budget to the Governor, the Legislature, and the State Auditor, including estimated actual expenditures and revenues for the current year, an analysis of the impact of the Governor's Budget for the next fiscal year, and any other pertinent information, as specified. Existing law requires the county to provide actual expenditure data for each program in its budget, as specified. Existing law also requires the Legislative Analyst to conduct a review of the county fiscal emergency and to make specified recommendations. This bill would repeal these provisions.
