This measure would proclaim the month of October 2023 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Existing law prohibits a deduction from the wages of an employee on account of the employee coming late to work in excess of the proportionate wage that would have been earned during the time actually lost, except as provided. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to that provision.
Existing law grants the legislative body of a city certain powers with respect to city streets and roads. Existing law authorizes the legislative body of a city, if it makes a specified determination, to contract with the board of supervisors of any county for the rental of the county's equipment for the maintenance, construction, or repair of streets and roads within the city, or for the maintenance, construction, or repair of streets and roads within the city by the county. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this provision.
Existing law establishes the Commission on Teacher Credentialing and requires the commission, among other duties, to establish standards for the issuance and renewal of credentials, certificates, and permits. Existing law establishes the periods for which a credential is valid. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision.
This measure would call on the Biden Administration to urge Azerbaijan to immediately return all Armenian hostages, to impose Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act violations on Azerbaijan, to suspend all United States military and economic assistance to Azerbaijan, and to work with the international community to ensure the protection and preservation of Armenian cultural heritage sites. The measure would also support House Resolution 861, which calls on Azerbaijan to immediately release all prisoners of war and captured civilians.
This measure would designate, in perpetuity, the 4th week of January as Data Privacy Week and the last Sunday of January as Data Privacy Day.
Existing law establishes the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services and under which qualified low-income individuals receive health care services, including federally qualified health center services and rural health clinic services. The Medi-Cal program is, in part, governed and funded by federal Medicaid program provisions. Under existing law, to the extent that federal financial participation is available, FQHC and RHC services are reimbursed on a per-visit basis, as specified. This bill would, among other things, require that per-visit rate to account for the costs of the FQHC or RHC that are reasonable and related to the provision of covered services, including the specific staffing and care delivery models used by the FQHC and RHC to deliver those services. The bill would also require the rate for any newly qualified health center to include the cost of care coordination services provided by the health center, as specified.
Existing law requires a pupil to complete designated coursework while in grades 9 to 12, inclusive, in order to receive a diploma of graduation from high school. These graduation requirements include, among others, the completion of a one-semester course in ethnic studies, meeting specified requirements, commencing for pupils graduating in the 2029–30 school year. Existing law establishes authorization for 4 basic teaching credentials, one of which is the single-subject credential, and requires the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to, among other duties, establish standards for the issuance and renewal of those credentials, as provided. This bill would require the commission to convene a statewide task force, composed of relevant stakeholders, and would require the task force, on or before September 1, 2024, to provide a report to the commission and the Legislature with recommendations for the criteria that should be required in order to obtain a single-subject credential in ethnic studies. The bill would require the commission, on or before January 1, 2025, to use the task force's recommendations to begin developing the criteria that will be required in order to obtain a single-subject credential in ethnic studies.
