Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Awareness Day.

This measure would proclaim January 30, 2018, as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Awareness Day and would recognize the efforts of advocacy organizations like the Faces of CTE in educating the public about the causes and dangers of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and supporting the victims of the disease.

Consumers.

Existing law states that it is the intent of the Legislature to promote and protect the interests of the people as consumers, and that the government advances the interests of consumers by, among other things, protecting consumers from the sale of goods and services through the use of deceptive methods, acts, or practices that are inimical to the general welfare of consumers. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this provision.

California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.

The California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 designates the State Air Resources Board as the state agency charged with monitoring and regulating sources of emissions of greenhouse gases. The act requires the state board to consult with other states, the federal government, and other nations to identify the most effective strategies and methods to reduce greenhouse gases, manage greenhouse gas control programs, and facilitate the development of integrated and cost-effective regional, national, and international greenhouse gas reduction programs. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

California Financial Literacy Fund.

Existing law establishes the California Financial Literacy Fund in the State Treasury for the purpose of enabling partnerships with the financial services community and governmental and nongovernmental stakeholders to improve the financial literacy of Californians. Existing law requires the fund to be administered by the Controller. Existing law authorizes the Controller to convene a financial literacy advisory committee to provide oversight of the fund and to develop strategies to improve financial literacy. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change in the provision governing the formation of a financial literacy advisory committee.
