Existing law provides that variance between the allegation in a pleading and the proof for that allegation shall not be deemed material unless it has actually misled the adverse party to its prejudice in maintaining an action or defense upon the merits. Existing law provides that if it appears a party has been so misled, the court may order the pleading to be amended, upon such terms as may be just. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to this provision.

Existing federal law provides for tax-qualified retirement plans and individual retirement accounts or individual retirement annuities by which private citizens may save money for retirement. Existing law modifies, for state income tax purposes, provisions of the Internal Revenue Code relating to individual retirement accounts. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that state provision.
Existing law provides that, in addition to other rights, a person has, subject to the qualifications and restrictions provided by law, the right of protection from bodily restraint or harm, from personal insult, from defamation, and from injury to their personal relations. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that provision.
Existing law requires the State Department of Social Services, subject to the availability of funding, to provide grants to qualified organizations to be used to provide persons currently or formerly residing in California with specified services, including, among others, services to obtain immigration remedies and services to assist with the naturalization process. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to expand legal services provided to undocumented and immigrant persons.
This measure would proclaim January 23, 2020, as Maternal Health Awareness Day, to draw attention to the efforts that have improved maternal health in California and to highlight the need for continued improvement of maternal health for all women.
This measure would designate the month of January 2020 as Positive Parenting Awareness Month in California.
This measure, among other things, would declare that California is a Reproductive Freedom State for All and provide that the Legislature is committed to guaranteeing the constitutionally protected right to an abortion and supporting efforts to increase access to the best available reproductive and pregnancy-related care for women and pregnant individuals.
This measure would proclaim January 13, 2020, as Korean American Day.
This measure would honor the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
