This measure would declare the 3rd week of September 2014, and the 3rd week of September in each subsequent year, as Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week.

This measure would express the Legislature's opposition to reduction of the current national and high-cost conforming loan limits for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and would urge the FHFA to continue to resist implementation of any such reductions. This measure also would urge the President and Congress of the United States to join California in opposing any reduction of the national and high-cost conforming loan limits.
This measure would declare August 2014 as Valley Fever Awareness Month.
Under existing law, within 30 days after a mortgage has been satisfied, the mortgagee or the assignee of the mortgagee is required to execute a certificate of the discharge of the mortgage, as specified, and to deliver, upon the request of the mortgagor or another authorized person, the original note and mortgage to the person making the request. Existing law requires a creditor to make certain disclosures to a consumer applying for a home equity loan, as defined. Existing federal law relating to lending practices specifies certain circumstances under which a lender may reduce or terminate an existing home equity line of credit. This bill would, on and after July 1, 2015, and until July 1, 2019, require a lender, upon receipt of a specified written request from a borrower and a specified payment, to close a borrower's equity line of credit, as defined, and to release or reconvey the property secured by the equity line of credit, as specified. The bill would prescribe the contents of the written request.
This measure would state the Legislature's support for the memorandum of understanding for establishing strategic partnerships between California and Israel.
This measure would urge the United States Department of Transportation and other relevant federal entities to (1) safeguard communities and environmentally sensitive areas from rail accidents involving transportation of crude oil by expediting rail safety reforms, (2) prioritize safety considerations over cost-effectiveness in deliberations about improving the transport of crude oil by rail, (3) mandate, at a minimum, the best practices explained in a 2014 safety initiative, as specified and (4) partner with the Canadian Transportation Agency to improve safety of the North American railroad tank car fleet by swiftly adopting a stricter design standard, and by retrofitting or phasing out tank cars that do not meet that standard.
This measure would commend the government of El Salvador on its handling of the recent election and would recognize the efforts of the United Nations, the Organization of American States, and other institutions in assisting with the election in the spirit of the Chapultepec Peace Accords.
This measure would proclaim June 11, 2014, and June 11 of each subsequent year, California LGBT Veterans Day, to be celebrated statewide.
This bill would call a special election to be consolidated with the November 4, 2014, statewide general election. The bill would require the Secretary of State to submit to the voters at the November 4, 2014, consolidated election an advisory question asking whether the Congress of the United States should propose, and the California Legislature should ratify, an amendment or amendments to the United States Constitution to overturn Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission (2010) 558 U.S. 310, and other applicable judicial precedents, as specified. The bill would require the Secretary of State to communicate the results of this election to the Congress of the United States. This bill would declare that it is to take effect immediately as an act calling an election.
