This measure would declare March 2009 to be Arts Education Month and would encourage all elected officials to participate with their educational communities in celebrating the arts.

This measure continues in existence the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Services and Homeland Security, renames it as the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management, comprised of 7 Members of the Senate and 7 Members of the Assembly, as specified, and authorizes the joint committee to act until November 30, 2010, and to address California's emergency management issues. This measure also authorizes the Senate Committee on Rules to make moneys available from the Senate Operating Fund, as it deems necessary, to pay the expenses of the joint committee.
This measure would declare May 2009 to be "Senior Volunteer Month" to honor the contributions of California's senior volunteers.
This measure memorializes the week beginning April 12, 2009, as California Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
This measure would declare the month of May 2009 as World Languages and Cultures Month.
This measure would declare April 2009 as Autism Awareness Month and recognize that individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are valued and important members of society. This measure would recognize the parents and relatives of individuals with ASDs for their sacrifice and dedication in providing for the special needs of individuals with ASDs. This measure would also declare the Legislature's continued support of the work of specified organizations related to ASDs.
This measure would recognize the week of April 26, 2009, through May 2, 2009, as Crime Victims' Rights Week.
This measure would designate April 30, 2009, as El Dia de los Ninos: Children's Day.
