This measure would commend the University of California, Los Angeles, for its accomplishments and its contributions to California.
This measure would proclaim the week of February 9, 2019, to February 16, 2019, inclusive, as California Court Reporting and Captioning Week and request the Governor to issue a proclamation calling on the people of the great State of California to observe the week with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and educational activities.
This measure would proclaim February 21, 2019, as Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day.
This measure would recognize the week of February 17, 2019, to February 23, 2019, as Engineers Week.
This measure, in observance of Black History Month, would honor the legacy of Bayard Rustin, who stood at the confluence of the greatest struggles for civil, legal, and human rights by African Americans, as well as the LGBTQ community, and whose focus on civil and economic rights and belief in peace and the dignity of all people remain as relevant today as ever.
This measure would declare February 19, 2019, as a Day of Remembrance in order to increase public awareness of the events surrounding the incarceration of Americans of Japanese ancestry during World War II.
This measure would recognize February 2019 as Black History Month, urge all citizens to join in celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans during Black History Month, and encourage the people of California to recognize the many talents of African Americans and the achievements and contributions they make to their communities to create equity and equality for education, economics, and social justice.
