The California Constitution provides for a right to privacy, and existing statutory law provides certain privacy protections for employment records. Existing law requires, an employer to disclose employment information relating to a current or former employee who is an applicant for a peace officer position, and who is not currently employed as a peace officer, upon request of a law enforcement agency, if certain conditions are met. This bill would extend those employer disclosure requirements to information relating to a current or former employee who is an applicant for a position other than as a sworn peace officer with a law enforcement agency.

This measure would declare June 27, 2017, as the second annual Robotics Technology Day.

Existing law requires each state agency that significantly regulates small business or significantly impacts small business to designate at least one individual who shall serve as a small business liaison for the agency. Existing law specifies liaison duties that include reviewing and updating content on the agency Web site that is accessible through the small business link at the State of California Internet portal and assisting the agency secretary, department director, or executive officer in ensuring that the procurement and contracting processes of the applicable entity are administered in order to meet or exceed the 25% small business participation goal. This bill would require a state agency that significantly regulates small business or that significantly impacts small business to prominently display the name and contact information of the small business liaison on the agency's Web site, if the agency has a Web site. The bill would require a state agency that significantly regulates small business or that significantly impacts small business to notify the Office of Small Business Advocate within the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development and the Department of General Services of the name and contact information of the person or persons who have been designated as the agency's small business liaison, on or before March 1, 2018, and of the occurrence of a vacancy in the position of small business liaison within 15 working days of the occurrence of the vacancy. The bill would require the state agency to designate a small business liaison within 3 months after providing notice of the vacancy. The bill also would make other, nonsubstantive changes.

This measure would proclaim and acknowledge the month of June 2017 as Elder and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Awareness Month.

This measure would declare June 28, 2017, as California Nonprofits Day and recognize the importance of nonprofit organizations to the economy and well-being of this state.

This measure would recognize June 12, 2017, as the 119th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and would call upon the people of the state to observe the month of June with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities.

This measure would call on the United States Congress and the President of the United States to take appropriate measures to facilitate stability in the Korean region, build goodwill that is conducive to peace on the Korean Peninsula, and minimize potential negative impacts to the South Korean economy, ensuring that the trade relationship between California and South Korea can continue to flourish.

This measure would recognize June 21, 2017, as the 2017 International Day of Yoga in California.

This measure would recognize June 19, 2017, as Juneteenth and would urge the people of California to join in celebrating Juneteenth as a day to honor and reflect on the significant role that African Americans have played in the history of the United States and how they have enriched society through their steadfast commitment to promoting unity and equality.
