This measure would recognize June 19, 2025, as Juneteenth and would urge the people of California to join in celebrating Juneteenth as a day to honor and reflect on the significant role that African Americans have played in the history of the United States and how they have enriched society through their steadfast commitment to promoting unity and equality.

This measure would proclaim the month of May 2025 as Drowning Awareness and Prevention Month in California and recognize Nadina Riggsbee, her daughter, Samira, and her son, JJ, in honor of Ms. Riggsbee's retirement from her position as the President and Founder of the Drowning Prevention Foundation.

This measure would applaud the California Girl Scout Councils for 113 years of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, and recognize March 12, 2025, as Girl Scout Day in California.

This measure would declare the month of June 2025 to be Portuguese Heritage Month and would recognize June 10 as the Day of Portugal and June 9 as the Day of the Azores.

Under existing law, the State Air Resources Board has adopted the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulations, which imposes various requirements for transitioning local, state, and federal government fleets of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, other high-priority fleets of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and drayage trucks to zero-emission vehicles, as provided. This bill would exempt emergency telecommunications vehicles owned or purchased by emergency telecommunications service providers that are used to participate in the federal Emergency Alert System, to provide access to 911 emergency services, or to provide wireless connectivity during service outages from specified requirements in the above-described regulations.
