Relative to the Ukrainian Famine of 1932-1933.

This measure would remember and honor the millions of victims of the man-made Ukrainian Famine of 1932–1933, known as "Holodomor," and their descendants who are living throughout California. The measure would also designate November 26, 2016, as Holodomor Remembrance Day.

Relative to daylight saving time.

Relative to Diaper Need Awareness Week.

Civil rights: the Equality Act.

This act would urge the United States Congress to enact the Equality Act of 2015, which would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include protections on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex for, among other things, employment, housing, public education, and public accommodations.

Relative to the Cuban embargo.

This measure would urge the Congress of the United States to support President Obama's initiative to normalize diplomatic relations with Cuba and to move forward with legislation to help increase trade with Cuba.

Relative to the transport by rail of flammable and combustible liquids.

This measure would urge the United States Department of Transportation, Department of Energy, and the Office of Management and Budget to expedite the rulemaking and implementation processes for federal safety regulations governing the transport by rail of flammable and combustible liquids, including crude oil, and would also urge the President and the Congress of the United States to pass specified federal legislation mandating public safety measures regulating the transport by rail of those liquids.
