Voter intimidation: public official: disqualification.

Existing law prohibits certain activities intended to compel a person to vote or dissuade a person from voting. Existing law imposes specified penalties for a person convicted of violating these provisions. This bill would, in addition to any other penalty, provide that a public official is forever disqualified from holding office in the state if he or she is convicted of a felony for violating the provisions related to voter intimidation, as described above.
