This measure would declare the week of May 16 to 23, 2020, inclusive, as California Museums Week, in recognition of the importance of museums as civic and educational institutions and their contributions to the well-being of this state.

This measure would memorialize the achievements of Rosa Parks in the Civil Rights Movement and would commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Rosa Parks Day in California on February 4, 2020.
If a school district or charter school elects to offer any interscholastic athletic program, existing law requires the school district or charter school to ensure that there is a written emergency action plan in place, and posted as specified. Existing law describes the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) as a voluntary organization that consists of school and school-related personnel with responsibility for administering interscholastic athletic activities in secondary schools, and sets forth the Legislature's intent regarding the California Interscholastic Federation's implementation of certain policies. This bill would add to the Legislature's intent policies that CIF shall cooperate with the State Department of Education to develop and maintain recommendations relating to air quality and its impact on athletic activity for schools, post on its internet website air quality activity recommendations for schools and air quality education materials, and require schools, as a condition of CIF membership, to ensure that their existing written emergency action plans educate administrators, staff, and coaches on air quality activity recommendations and education materials made available on CIF's internet website.
This measure would proclaim January 23, 2020, as Maternal Health Awareness Day, to draw attention to the efforts that have improved maternal health in California and to highlight the need for continued improvement of maternal health for all women.
This measure would proclaim January 26, 2020, as India Republic Day, and would urge all Californians to join in celebrating India Republic Day.
This measure would call on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to extend the REAL ID deadline for air travel by at least 3 years to ensure there is not a disruption in air travel.
Existing law declares that the fostering, continuance, and development of public transportation systems are a matter of state concern. Existing law authorizes the Department of Transportation to administer various programs and allocates moneys for various public transportation purposes. This bill would require transit agencies to offer free senior transit passes to persons over 65 years of age in order to be eligible for state funding under the Mills-Deddeh Transit Development Act, the State Transit Assistance Program, and the Low Carbon Transit Operations Program. The bill would require those free senior transit passes to count as full price fares for purposes of calculating the ratio of fare revenues to operating costs.
This measure would designate the month of January 2020 as Positive Parenting Awareness Month in California.
