Existing law establishes the Department of General Services in the Government Operations Agency. By executive order, the Governor requires the department to create a digitized inventory of all state-owned parcels that are in excess of state agencies' foreseeable needs, as provided, and to issue, in consultation with the Department of Housing and Community Development, requests for proposals on individual parcels and accept proposals from developers of affordable housing interested in entering into low-cost, long-term ground leases of these parcels, as described. This bill would establish the EO N-06-19 State Land Affordable Housing Infrastructure, Demolition, Abatement, and Remediation Fund and would make moneys in the fund available, upon appropriation by the Legislature, to an unspecified state agency for purposes of establishing and administering a grant program, as specified. The bill would require the state agency to establish, upon appropriation by the Legislature, the grant program and would require the grant program to meet specified requirements, including that the grant be for the construction of infrastructure, demolition of existing buildings, abatement, or remediation of qualified development projects, as defined, on qualified property, as defined. The bill would require specified grants moneys awarded to the developer that are not used when the qualified development project is completed to be returned to the state agency and deposited into the fund. The bill would require the state agency to implement rules and regulations for purposes of administering the grant program, including as specified. The bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation designating a state agency to administer the fund.
This measure would recognize the importance of California Native American Day, celebrated this year on September 24, 2021, and the annual California Indian Cultural Awareness Conference, to the enhancement of awareness of California Indian culture.
This measure would proclaim January 13, 2022, as Korean American Day.
This measure would designate the month of November 2021 to be California's Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month. The measure would recognize and acknowledge the significant contributions made by Californians of Sikh heritage to our state and seeks to afford all Californians the opportunity to better understand, recognize, and appreciate the rich history and shared principles of Sikh Americans. The measure would condemn all hate crimes and bias incidents against Sikh Americans and encourage all Sikhs to practice their faith freely and fearlessly.
This measure would recognize September 2021 as PACE Month in California.
This measure would designate the month of October 2021 as California Hindu American Awareness and Appreciation Month. The measure would also recognize and acknowledge the significant contributions made by Californians of Hindu heritage to the state and seek to increase awareness and understanding of the Hindu American community.
