A bill to impose sanctions with respect to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Sayyud Ebrahim Raisol-Sadati, who was elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 2021 presidential election.

This bill requires the President to impose visa- and property-blocking sanctions on the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khameini, and the Iranian president elected in 2021, Sayyid Ebrahim Raisol-Sadati.

SHIELD Act

Securing the Homeland from International Entrants with Life-threatening Diseases Act or the SHIELD Act This bill suspends for one year the admission and parole into the United States of certain categories of individuals who are from or were recently in a country that fails to meet certain criteria related to COVID-19. This restriction applies to certain individuals entering the United States from Mexico or Canada through a port of entry or U.S. Border Patrol station and (1) whose country of origin has not been categorized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a low-risk country for COVID-19, or (2) who was in such a country at any time in the 30 days before arriving in the United States. The bill exempts certain individuals from this restriction, including U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, members of the Armed Forces, and persons from a foreign country who arrive at a designated port of entry with valid travel documents. The Department of Homeland Security shall transport barred individuals to a foreign location, such as an individual's country of origin, to the extent practicable.

A resolution urging all parties in Georgia to seek prompt implementation of the agreement signed on April 19, 2021, and reaffirming the support of the Senate for Georgia, the territorial integrity of Georgia, and the aspirations of Georgians to join the Euro-Atlantic community.

This resolution welcomes the decision by most political parties in Georgia to sign the agreement mediated by the European Union and the United States on April 19, 2021. It also calls on the United National Movement and other remaining opposition parties to sign the agreement and for all parties to work to fully execute the letter and spirit of the agreement.

Keep the Watchdogs Running Act

Keep the Watchdogs Running Act This bill authorizes a federal office of inspector general (OIG) to continue performing its duties during a lapse in appropriations (i.e., government shutdown). During a lapse in appropriations, the OIG may obligate funds (1) at the rate of operations and under the terms and conditions provided in the most recently enacted appropriations act, and (2) to perform its duties with respect to any program that continues during the lapse in appropriations.

Western Water Infrastructure Act of 2021

Western Water Infrastructure Act of 2021 This bill reauthorizes and modifies certain Bureau of Reclamation programs related to water storage, eligible desalination projects, and reclamation and reuse of wastewater and groundwater in western states. Also, Reclamation must (1) develop a sediment management plan for their reservoirs upon request by project beneficiaries; (2) perform enhanced inspections for aging infrastructure to ensure their safe operation upon request by the owner or operator; and (3) carry out activities to reduce or eliminate certain rehabilitation, reconstruction, and replacement needs of Reclamation.

Promoting Responsible and Effective Virtual Experiences through Novel Technology to Deliver Improved Access and Better Engagement with Tested and Evidence-based Strategies Act or the PREVENT DIABETES Act This bill requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to allow online or virtual diabetes prevention programs that meet standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to participate in the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program Expanded Model. The model provides CDC-approved training on dietary changes, physical activity, and other behavioral strategies for beneficiaries who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Physician Shortage GME Cap Flex Act of 2021

Physician Shortage GME Cap Flex Act of 2021 This bill excludes certain hospitals that establish shortage specialty programs from the cap on full-time equivalent residents that is otherwise applicable, and provides for a new building period, for purposes of graduate medical education payments under Medicare.
