Advances conformity of the Commonwealth's tax code with the federal tax code to December 31, 2018. However, for taxable years 2018 through 2025, the bill deconforms from the provisions of Public Law 115-97, known as the "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act," that would suspend the overall limitation on itemized deductions.
Expresses the sentiment of the General Assembly in acknowledging with profound regret the existence and acceptance of lynching within the Commonwealth and calling for reconciliation among all Virginians. This resolution is a recommendation of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission.
Adds to the list of acceptable forms of voter identification a valid student photo identification card issued by any institution of higher education located in any other state or territory of the United States. Current law allows students from any institution of higher education located in the Commonwealth to use their student photo identification cards for purposes of voting.
