Authorizes the City of Danville to establish by ordinance a pilot project requiring that no deed with an assessed value of $50,000 or less be recorded by the clerk unless the city director of finance certifies that there are no liens against the property for unpaid taxes, interest, or fines owed to the City of Danville. The bill requires the City of Danville to make a written report to the Virginia Housing Commission by May 31, 2020, and it expires on July 1, 2021. As introduced, the bill is a recommendation of the Virginia Housing Commission.
Removes provisions related to licensure of graduates of an institution not approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the Board of Medicine. Under the bill, only graduates of institutions approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the Board of Medicine are eligible for licensure.
Removes the language limiting the date at which a special election can be held to fill a vacancy occurring in the representation of the Commonwealth in the United States Senate. The bill also removes the authority of the Governor to make a temporary appointment to fill such a vacancy. The bill allows the Governor to immediately issue a writ to call an election upon receipt of written notification by a Senator or Senator-elect of his resignation and makes such resignation irrevocable after the date stated by him for his resignation or after the forty-fifth day before the date set for the special election.
