Expressing support for the designation of June as the "Month of Life".

Maddy summaryHRES 1216 is a non-binding House resolution expressing support for designating June as "Month of Life." It does not create new laws or programs but formally recognizes the value of human life from conception to birth, citing the Declaration of Independence, opposition to abortion access (including reference to the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade), and promoting life-affirming alternatives like adoption and pregnancy support services. The resolution encourages communities to provide resources for mothers and families during this observance. As a symbolic gesture, it directly affects House members who co-sponsored it but has no legal effect on policy or funding.

COI Elimination Act

COI Elimination Act This bill limits U.S. contributions to the United Nations pertaining to the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel. Current law imposes a cap on the annual U.S. contribution to the U.N. budget. The bill lowers that cap by 25% of the amount budgeted for the commission. The bill also states that it shall be U.S. policy to seek the abolition of the commission and combat systemic anti-Israel bias in international bodies.

Relating to a national emergency declared by the President on March 13, 2020.

Maddy summaryH.J. Res. 46 is a joint resolution seeking to terminate the national emergency declared by President Trump on March 13, 2020, under the National Emergencies Act. If enacted, it would end the legal authority allowing federal agencies to bypass standard procedures during the pandemic response. This action would directly affect government operations relying on emergency powers, requiring agencies to revert to regular processes for ongoing programs. The resolution does not alter existing laws or create new policies - it solely ends the emergency designation.
