Endowment Transparency Act

Endowment Transparency Act This bill requires certain actions regarding institutions of higher education (IHEs) and the management of their assets. Specifically, the bill requires the Department of Education to annually update the College Navigator website with information on the assets of IHEs, including information about investments with minority- or women-owned firms. The bill also requires the Minority Business Development Agency to (1) report on recommended changes for substantially increasing the use of minority- or women-owned firms in the investment and bond transactions of IHEs, and (2) convene a conference every five years.

Major Richard Star Act

Major Richard Star Act This bill provides that combat-disabled uniformed services retirees with fewer than 20 years of creditable service may concurrently receive, without reduction, veterans' disability compensation and retired pay or combat-related special compensation.

Keep Americans Safe Act

Keep Americans Safe Act This bill establishes a new criminal offense for the import, sale, manufacture, transfer, or possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device (LCAFD). The bill does not prohibit certain conduct with respect to an LCAFD, including the following: importation, sale, manufacture, transfer, or possession related to certain law enforcement efforts, or authorized tests or experiments; importation, sale, transfer, or possession related to securing nuclear materials; and possession by a retired law enforcement officer. The bill permits continued possession of, but prohibits sale or transfer of, a grandfathered LCAFD. Newly manufactured LCAFDs must display serial number identification and the date of manufacture. Additionally, the bill allows a state or local government to use Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program funds to compensate individuals who surrender an LCAFD under a buy-back program.

Recognizing the significant human rights activism and baseball stardom legacy of Roberto Clemente, and calling on Major League Baseball to retire the number 21 in honor of his legendary life and career.

This resolution recognizes the accomplishments of Roberto Clemente, the first Puerto Rican to be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and urges Major League Baseball to retire the number 21 in honor of his life and legacy.

John Lewis Civil Rights Fellowship Act of 2022

John Lewis Civil Rights Fellowship Act of 2022 This bill establishes the John Lewis Civil Rights Fellowship Program within the J. William Fulbright Educational Exchange Program (commonly referred to as the Fulbright Program). The fellowship program shall honor the legacy of Representative John Lewis and advance U.S. foreign policy priorities by promoting studies, research, and international exchange in the subject of nonviolent civil rights movements around the world. The Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board shall annually select qualified individuals to serve as fellows in the fellowship program. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs may determine the number of fellows for each year, with at least 25 fellows each year whenever feasible. Each fellow shall (1) work in an internship or research position with an approved organization in a country with an operational Fulbright U.S. Student Program, and (2) receive an award sufficient to cover the fellow's reasonable costs during the fellowship period and certain travel and lodging expenses related to the program.

Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2022

Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2022 This act requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to increase the amounts payable for wartime disability compensation, additional compensation for dependents, the clothing allowance for certain disabled veterans, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children. Specifically, the VA must increase the amounts by the same percentage as the cost-of-living increase in benefits for Social Security recipients that is effective on December 1, 2022. The act requires the VA to publish the amounts payable, as increased, in the Federal Register. The VA is authorized to make a similar adjustment to the rates of disability compensation payable to persons who have not received compensation for service-connected disability or death.

Expressing support for October 2, 2022, through October 8, 2022, as "National Student Athlete Mental Health Week".

This resolution supports the goals of Mental Illness Awareness Week and supports the designation of a National Student Athlete Mental Health Week. It also encourages the President to issue a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe National Student Athlete Mental Health Week with appropriate awareness and educational activities.

Diane Powis Ovarian Cancer Testing Access Act This bill provides for Medicare coverage of multimarker tests related to ovarian cancer (i.e., tests that evaluate more than one tumor marker with respect to ovarian cancer).
