Asylum Claims Improvement Act of 2022 This bill prohibits the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from taking into account the mental health of a non-U.S. national (alien under federal law) when determining whether that individual qualifies as a refugee. (Generally, a refugee is an individual who is unable to return to their country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of certain characteristics, such as race or religion.) The bill also prohibits DHS from taking into account a non-U.S. national's mental health when determining whether that individual is protected by a provision that generally prohibits removing an individual to a country where that individual's life or freedom would be threatened.

Sanctioning Supporters of Slave Labor Act This bill expands existing sanctions on foreign individuals and entities responsible for human rights abuses (e.g., such as torture or forced labor) against members of Muslim minority groups or other persons in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China. Specifically, this bill requires sanctions on foreign individuals and entities that knowingly (1) provide material support to the parties subject to the existing sanctions for human rights abuses in Xinjiang, or (2) engage in a significant transaction relating to such human rights abuses.

Secure Every School and Protect Our Nation’s Children Act or the STOP II Act This bill reauthorizes and supports various grants to enhance school safety and security initiatives. It also provides statutory authority for the federal clearinghouse of school safety resources. (The clearinghouse identifies and publishes best practices and recommendations for school safety for use by state and local educational and law enforcement agencies, institutions of higher education, health professionals, and the public.)

Victims Of Immigration Crime Engagement Restoration Act or as the VOICE Restoration Act This bill establishes the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office within U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The office shall provide assistance to victims of crimes committed by non-U.S. nationals ( aliens under federal law) who are present in the United States without lawful immigration status.

Reinforcing Every Final Order of Removal Measure Act of 2022 or the REFORM Act of 2022 This bill imposes additional requirements pertaining to a foreign country that refuses to accept (or unreasonably delays in accepting) its citizens, nationals, subjects, or residents who are subject to a final order of removal from the United States.

Protecting Gun Owners in Bankruptcy Act of 2022 This bill modifies federal bankruptcy law to allow an individual debtor to exempt from their bankruptcy estate one or more firearms up to a total maximum value of $3,000. The bill also specifies that such firearms are household goods that are not subject to liens in bankruptcy.

Traveler's Gun Rights Act This bill allows an individual who does not have a physical residence in a state to use the address for a private mailbox or post office box maintained by that individual for purposes of obtaining a firearm from a federally licensed dealer.

Build the Wall Now Act This bill addresses issues related to the construction of a barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border, such as (1) requiring the Department of Homeland Security to resume any project related to the construction of such a barrier (and any related infrastructure); and (2) exempting such construction projects from various legal requirements, including requirements stemming from the Administrative Procedure Act, the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act.

Safe Sponsor Act of 2022 This bill prohibits the placement of an unaccompanied alien child with a proposed custodian who is not a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident. The bill also requires a custodian to post a bond as assurance that the child will attend each necessary immigration-related legal proceeding.

Every Town A Border Town Act This bill requires the Department of State to designate Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and any successor organization as a foreign terrorist organization. Among other things, the designation allows the Department of the Treasury to require financial institutions to block transactions involving the organization. Additionally, an alien who is a member, officer, official, representative, or spokesman of MS-13 is considered to have engaged in terrorist activity and is inadmissible for entry into the United States.
