Congressional Foreign Entanglement Disclosure and Reduction Act This bill expands financial disclosure reporting provisions to require Members of Congress to include in their report any business ties the Member or his or her immediate family has with a foreign entity.
Tax Transparency Act of 2021 This bill requires the President, the Vice President, Members of Congress, and candidates for such offices to publicly disclose their individual tax returns for the previous seven years.
Retirement Forfeiture for Members of Congress Turned Foreign Lobbyists Act This bill prohibits a former Member of Congress or former senior congressional employee who is a registered lobbyist representing a foreign principal from being eligible for the Civil Service Retirement System or the Federal Employees Retirement System, including the Thrift Savings Plan; the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program; or the Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance Program.
American Election Security Act This bill prohibits the use of voting systems in federal elections that (1) have hardware and software components that are not manufactured and maintained in the United States, or (2) are produced by a foreign entity.
Defund EcoHealth Alliance Act This bill prohibits the award of federal funds to EcoHealth Alliance, Inc. This is a nonprofit research organization that studies coronaviruses in bat populations and other environmental health concerns. The Government Accountability Office must also audit federal funds provided to that organization over the past decade. The audit must include the amount of those funds provided by EcoHealth Alliance to China, the Chinese Communist Party, or the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Reshoring American Manufacturing Act of 2021 or the RAM Act of 2021 This bill allows business taxpayers a tax credit, up to $25 million in a taxable year, for the cost of eligible reshoring expenses. The bill defines eligible reshoring expenses as amounts paid for the transportation (including any import duties, fees, or tariffs imposed with respect to such transportation) of manufacturing equipment from China to the United States. The credit expires after 2024.
Banning Operations and Leases with the Illegitimate Venezuelan Authoritarian Regime Act or the BOLIVAR Act This bill prohibits an executive agency from entering into a contract for the procurement of goods or services with any person that has business operations with the Maduro regime in Venezuela. The bill lists exceptions, including where vital to U.S. national security or as necessary for purposes of providing humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and other urgent lifesaving measures, or to carry out noncombatant evacuations.
Education Savings Accounts for Military Families Act of 2021 This bill directs the Department of Education (ED) to establish a program to provide children with parents on active duty in the uniformed services with funds to pay educational expenses. Specifically, ED must establish a tax-exempt Military Education Savings Account for dependent children of parents in the uniformed services for the payment of the children's educational expenses. Funds in the savings account may be used for specified purposes, including the cost of attendance at a private elementary or secondary school or institution of higher education, private tutoring, or costs associated with an apprenticeship or other vocational training program.
Health Care Fairness for Military Families Act of 2021 This bill modifies the extension of dependent coverage under TRICARE by allowing a dependent under the age of 26 to be covered without an additional premium. Additionally, the bill authorizes such coverage of dependents without a premium regardless of whether they are eligible to enroll in an employer sponsored plan.
Border Wall Trust Fund Act This bill authorizes the Department of the Treasury to accept gifts of money for constructing, designing, or maintaining a barrier on the U.S.-Mexico border. Treasury shall establish the Border Wall Trust Fund to store the funds and a public website to receive such gifts. Such funds shall be appropriated for the border barrier and may not be used for any other purpose. The Department of Homeland Security shall provide for a commemorative display recognizing individuals who contributed to the trust fund. The display shall be part of the border barrier.
