SB 1703: Criminal Offenses - As introduced, permits the transfer of a juvenile to criminal court for the offense of theft of a firearm from a motor vehicle if the child was 14 years of age or older but younger than 17 years of age; increases from a Class E felony to a Class D felony theft of a firearm worth less than $2,500. - Amends TCA Title 37; Title 39 and Title 40.

SB 2837: General Assembly - As introduced, permits sergeants-at-arms to carry a handgun while in the course and scope of their duties within the legislative complex provided that they have a valid handgun carry permit; imposes a duty on the department of safety to implement a training program to train the sergeants-at-arms in all safety procedures for the legislative complex; requires a sergeant-at-arms who carries a firearm while in the course and scope of their duties to attend a firearms training course if hired on or after October 1, 2024. - Amends TCA Title 3; Title 4; Title 38 and Title 39.

SB 2379: Children's Services, Dept. of - As introduced, directs the department to submit to the United States department of health and human services a waiver request to exempt this state from the immunization requirements of the National Model Foster Family Home Licensing Standards for Title IV-E agencies; directs the department to submit the waiver request prior to or as part of the department's next occurring Title IV-E program plan application submission. - Amends TCA Title 4 and Title 37.

SB 2449: Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, deletes an exception to the offense of carrying a firearm with the intent to go armed for persons carrying, whether openly or concealed, a handgun if the person lawfully possesses the handgun, is in a place where the person is lawfully present, and the person meets certain age requirements. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13.

SB 2603: Food and Food Products - As introduced, clarifies that a cell-cultured protein offered for sale, sold, or distributed in this state and labeled or advertised as meat, a meat food product, poultry, or a poultry food product is misbranded under the Tennessee Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act; specifies that under the Tennessee Meat and Poultry Inspection Act the definitions of "meat," "meat food product," "poultry," or "poultry food product" do not include a cell-cultured protein. - Amends TCA Title 39; Title 40; Title 44; Title 47 and Title 53.
