Enables the Rhode Island public transit authority (RIPTA) to work with the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) to allow commuter rail passes to be used as dual passes for both RIPTA and MBTA.
Provides immunity to people involved in commercial sexual activity if they are victims or witnesses to various other offenses and would not grant immunity to law enforcement officers for arresting those persons.
Prohibits the courts from setting cash or surety bail on any misdemeanor offense but permits the court to set reasonable non-monetary conditions of bail to assure the defendant's presence in court as required and to protect the community.
Allows expungement of multiple felony convictions for non-violent felonies10 years after sentence completed.
Makes it a felony to price gouge prescriptions or pharmaceuticals in time of a shortage.
Fair employment practices to include individuals appointed, contract for hire of apprenticeships.
Repeals the law enforcement officers' bill of rights, chapter 42-28.6 of the general laws, in its entirety.
Prohibits the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) from imposing any fares and/or charges for service provided to the general public. Effective 1/1/2025.
Requires state use actual residences of persons in government custody for redistricting purposes. Information would be collected by the department of corrections and forwarded to the secretary of state to be utilized for redistricting.
