Expands the authority of the police officers commission on standards and training. It makes it applicable to the city of Providence. It creates and maintains a database containing records for each certified and decertified law enforcement officers.
Mandates police disclosure reason for stop.
Repeals the law enforcement officers' bill of rights, chapter 42-28.6 of the general laws, in its entirety.
Prohibits the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) from imposing any fares and/or charges for service provided to the general public. Effective 1/1/2025.
Requires state use actual residences of persons in government custody for redistricting purposes. Information would be collected by the department of corrections and forwarded to the secretary of state to be utilized for redistricting.
Increases the hourly wages paid to prisoners, for work performed by prisoners, with the consent of the director of corrections.
Amends the current law on controlled substances to permit a person to be in possession of less than one ounce of psilocybin and permits psilocybin to be securely cultivated within a person's residence for personal use.
Creates a commission to establish homeless shelter standards through regulations.
