Relates to due process procedures for certain persons who have received an offer for transitional care or certain care prior to becoming eligible to receive such care

Relates to due process procedures for persons who currently are placed in New York state education department approved out-of-state residential schools pursuant to the education law and the federal individuals with disabilities education act who have received an offer for transitional care or certain care prior to becoming eligible to receive such care.

Relates to the mandatory coverage of hearing aids by insurers and other organizations for children

Provides for coverage of hearing aids for child patients who are covered under a policy or contract of insurance if the hearing aids are fitted and dispensed by a licensed audiologist certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association following medical clearance by a physician licensed to practice medicine and an audiological evaluation medically appropriate to the age of the child.

Relates to the establishment of a twenty-two year retirement program for emergency medical technicians

Relates to the establishment of a twenty-two year retirement program for members of the New York city employees' retirement system employed as emergency medical technicians and advanced emergency medical technicians and to the establishment of such program for such members who are subject to articles 11 and 15 of the retirement and social security law.

Relates to simulation of disaster events

Requires state disaster preparedness plans and local comprehensive emergency management plans to include at least one annual simulation of both natural and man-made disaster events in the form of a tabletop exercise in which key personnel assigned emergency management roles and responsibilities gather to discuss, in a non-threatening environment, various simulated emergency situations; provides that such simulation shall be completed annually prior to the first of May in areas at risk to hurricane damage.
