Establishes the office of the child welfare advocate to provide support to youth, biological parents, kinship caregivers and foster parents including prospective kinship caregivers or foster parents.
Enhances the flexibility within the county-wide shared services initiative; provides an additional representative to the county-wide shared services panels to represent the school district of such county.
Authorizes the commissioner of education to implement a purple star schools program to recognize schools and school districts which demonstrate a commitment to assisting military-connected students and their families.
Authorizes the town board of the town of Lewisboro, county of Westchester to establish certain speed limits on rural major and minor collector roads at twenty-five miles per hour.
Establishes an optional retirement stipend of thirty dollars per month for incarcerated individuals over age sixty-two who have completed at least five years of their sentence.
Exempts charitable corporations formed pursuant to the provisions of the not-for-profit corporation law for charitable purposes from the imposition of the metropolitan commuter transportation mobility tax.
Provides tax credit to certain volunteer firefighters, volunteer ambulance workers, volunteer reserve forces officers, auxiliary police officers and volunteer emergency medical personnel under certain circumstances.
Decreases the amount of the late charge of five percent to one-half percent for the overdue tax payment; authorizes a municipality to provide any resident the opportunity for the forbearance of certain delinquent taxes upon a hardship declaration.
Requires the trustees or board of education of every school district with twenty or more enrolled students who are military connected youth to designate a military education coordinator; provides for the identification of military connected youth; provides for a military student census to determine whether a student's parent is a member of: the armed forces of the United States who is on active duty; the reserve component of a branch of the armed forces of the United States; or the national guard; makes related provisions.
Relates to notifying parents of their right to refuse the inclusion of certain behavioral interventions in their children's individualized education plan or behavioral intervention plan.
