Relates to gun violence restraining orders; provides a procedure whereby family members may prohibit persons from owning or possessing firearms if the person poses an immediate and present danger of causing personal injury to himself, herself, or another by having in his or her custody or control a firearm and a gun violence restraining order is necessary to prevent personal injury to the subject of the petition or another because less restrictive alternatives either have been tried and found to be ineffective, or have been determined to be inadequate.
Authorizes and directs the department of health to conduct a study on drugs prescribed for school-age children with ADD and ADHD.
Relates to the postmark date for change of enrollment; dated cancellation mark 25 days before the election and received no later than the 20th day before the general election.
Requires cultural awareness and competence training for all medical professionals as part of their licensing requirements; requires biennial training in the non-discriminatory provision of medical services for physicians, physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, registered and licensed practical nurses, podiatrists, and optometrists; authorizes the department of education to develop the training in consultation with the department of health and other experts; provides for documentation and exemption from the requirements; provides for a public education program on minority health; appropriates $100,000 therefor.
Establishes the safe homes act authorizing law enforcement to remove firearms found on the premises where there has been a report of domestic violence.
Prohibits certain solid waste polluters from procuring public contracts for certain periods of time after violations and until all debts to the state are satisfied; prohibits individuals found guilty of solid waste pollution from serving as members of any board of any entity engaged in solid waste removal and disposal.
Requires state agencies and contractors to recycle a certain percentage of waste generated on public works construction and demolition sites.
Directs contracting state agencies to develop a growth plan in order to increase participation of minority- and women-owned businesses with respect to state contracts and subcontracts.
Relates to application requirements for private or government entities that wish to provide electric service converting residential rental buildings from being mass-metered to submetered.
