Relates to encouraging and promoting farmers markets in state and local parks

Maddy summaryThis bill requires New York State parks to actively promote farmers markets within state parks that sell locally grown food products, without harming park environments. It mandates parks officials to post market locations/times on their website, identify new park locations for markets, and coordinate with agencies like Empire State Development and Agriculture. The policy directly affects state parks management and farmers markets operating in park settings. It creates concrete requirements for information sharing and collaboration but does not fund or mandate new markets.

Relates to the transfer of the regional state park police to the division of state police; repealer

Maddy summaryThis bill transfers the regional state park police from the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to the Division of State Police. It directly affects park police officers, their current employer, and the state police division by moving all duties, personnel, facilities, records, vehicles, and assets to the new division. Key provisions ensure employees face no salary reduction, retain accrued leave and seniority, and must pass background checks to join the state police; those with four or more years of service may skip standard promotion waiting periods. The transfer preserves ongoing cases, contracts, and rules without disruption, with the Division of State Police assuming all related responsibilities.
