Requires registering with the sex offender registry no later than five days after any change of address

Maddy summaryThis bill requires sex offenders to update their registration information with the state registry within five days of moving, changing internet accounts, or altering their student or employment status. It establishes a ten-dollar fee for each registration update, though failing to pay this fee will not prevent the state from accepting the new address or status information. The law applies to all registered sex offenders and takes effect ninety days after it is signed into law.

Prohibits the sale of medical adhesives and bandages containing perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances

Maddy summaryThis bill prohibits the sale of medical adhesives and bandages in the state if they contain specific chemicals known as perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances. It directly affects manufacturers, importers, and distributors by requiring them to ensure these products are free from those substances before selling them. The law allows sellers to avoid penalties if they can prove they relied on a valid certificate of compliance from the manufacturer, while also imposing daily fines for violations. The regulations will take effect on December 31, 2025, giving the industry time to adjust before the ban is enforced.
