Maddy summaryThis bill repeals two New York State tax credits: the Empire State Film Production Credit and the Empire State Film Post-Production Credit. It removes these incentives from the state tax code, directly affecting film production companies that previously qualified for these tax breaks. The repeal eliminates specific provisions in the tax law that allowed eligible film producers to reduce their state tax liability by a percentage of qualified production costs. This is a straightforward policy change that ends these financial incentives without altering other tax structures.

Maddy summaryThis bill (A 4447) creates a pilot program in Jamestown allowing the city to use speed cameras in up to nine school zones during student activity periods (school hours and 1 hour before/after, plus activity times). It requires cameras to pass daily self-tests and annual calibration, mandates warning signs, and limits fines to $50 per violation (plus $25 for late responses), with exemptions for stolen vehicles or calibration issues. Vehicle owners - not drivers - are liable for fines, which do not count as speeding convictions or affect insurance. The program is strictly limited to Jamestown and includes strict rules for handling camera images.
