Directs the division of criminal justice services to establish a program for the care of retired law enforcement dogs which shall cover the cost of veterinary care for retired law enforcement dogs for the remainder of the lifetime of such dogs.
Enacts the New York state buy American salt act to ensure all rock salt, or sodium chloride, used or supplied in the performance of a government contract or any subcontract thereto within the state shall be mined or hand harvested in the United States.
Provides that a veteran seeking a housing loan under chapter 37 of title 38 of the United States Code be offered loan counseling services prior to the processing of such application by a banking institution or mortgage lender.
Establishes the office of hospice and palliative care access and quality.
Requires employers to display a poster containing information on veterans' benefits and services which shall be created and distributed by the department of labor for display by employers with more than fifty full-time equivalent employees.
Relates to requiring specific reserved bed days at New York State Veterans' Homes.
Authorizes cities, villages and towns to reduce the speed limit to twenty-five miles per hour.
Authorizes the commissioner of education to conduct a survey regarding instruction on the Holocaust within the state; provides a report shall be delivered which includes detailed results of the survey, the extent the survey data submitted was compliant with section eight hundred one of the education law, and if needed, recommendations to strengthen provisions of law if not compliant.
Establishes a statewide advanced care planning campaign to promote public awareness of hospice and palliative care services.
