Requires registered sex offenders to personally appear at the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction for purpose of having a photograph taken; repealer

Requires registered sex offenders to personally appear annually, within thirty days of the anniversary of their initial registration date, at the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction for the purpose of having a photograph taken; failure to so appear shall constitute a class A misdemeanor; such agency shall forward a copy of the photograph to the division of criminal justice services, along with the date the photograph was taken; requires disclosure of the date that a photograph of a sex offender was taken.

Enacts the military spouse act of 2017

Enacts the military spouse act of 2017, which: requires a workshop to investigate and report about licensing and the difficulties encountered by military spouses (Part A); authorizes the state to certify persons to teach who are not graduates of teacher education programs (Part B); adopts the interstate nursing licensure compact (Part C); and authorizes licensing of military spouses with out-of-state licenses in equivalent occupations (Part D).

Relates to annual teacher and principal evaluations

Relates to annual teacher and principal evaluations; provides that in the event that a new evaluation system has not been adopted in accordance with the recommendations of the committee of experts as set forth in subdivision sixteen of section 3012-d of the education law by September 1, 2021, the date for compliance with the provisions of subpart E of part EE of chapter 56 of the laws of 2015, shall be suspended until such time that a new evaluation system is enacted.
