Opportunities for the Nation and States to Harness Onshore Resources for Energy Act or the ONSHORE Act This bill makes various changes to expand and otherwise addresses onshore oil and gas resources on federal land and non-federal surface estates. Specifically, the bill requires, subject to some limits, the Department of the Interior and the Forest Service to lease certain public lands and Forest System land with known or potential oil or gas deposits. (Current law authorizes but does not require leasing.) Other changes in the bill include (1) allowing Interior to delegate authority over certain federal permitting and other regulatory responsibilities for oil and gas leases to states; (2) exempting some oil and gas activities conducted on non-federal surface estates from certain permitting and environmental review requirements; and (3) requiring deference to state regulations, guidance, and permit requirements for all activities regarding hydraulic fracturing (a type of process used to extract underground energy resources) on federal land.
Lease Now Act of 2022 This bill directs the Department of the Interior to resume sales of onshore and offshore oil and gas leases and specifies lease terms and other requirements related to those sales. The bill also prohibits the President from taking actions to cancel, delay, or otherwise impede federal processes related to energy mineral leasing without congressional approval.
Greatest Generation Commemorative Coin Act This bill directs the Department of the Treasury to mint and issue up to 50,000 $5 coins, 400,000 $1 silver coins, and 750,000 half-dollar clad coins in commemoration of the National World War II Memorial in the District of Columbia. The design of the coins shall be emblematic of the memorial and the service and sacrifice of American soldiers and civilians during World War II. All surcharges received from the sale of such coins shall be paid to the Friends of the National World War II Memorial to support the National Park Service in maintaining and repairing the memorial, and for educational and commemorative programs.
This resolution expresses the sense of the Senate that the President should work with Congress to develop and execute a strategy to counter the rise in violent crime across the country by reinforcing strong criminal justice policies, by laying blame on the perpetrators of violent acts, and by securing the southern border.
Alzheimer's Accountability and Investment Act This bill requires the National Institutes of Health to annually submit, beginning in FY2024, an estimate of its budget and personnel needs for carrying out initiatives pursuant to the National Alzheimer's Project. Promoting Innovation and Offering the Needed Escape from Exhaustive Regulations Act or the PIONEER Act This bill establishes a federal regulatory sandbox program to allow businesses to apply for a temporary waiver from a federal regulation, guidance document, or any other document issued by an agency. The bill establishes the Office of Federal Regulatory Relief to administer the program.
Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park Expansion and Redesignation Act This bill redesignates the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site as the Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park and expands the park. The park is expanded to include the land and interests in land as generally depicted on the map titled Brown v. The Department of the Interior may acquire this land by donation, exchange, or purchase. Any property owned by South Carolina, Kansas, or any political subdivision of those states may be acquired by donation. Interior shall submit to Congress an amendment to the management plan for the historical park to include the portions of the historical park in Summerton. The bill establishes as affiliated areas of the National Park System the Robert Russa Moton Museum in Farmville, Virginia; the Delaware Brown v.
