Accelerate Long-term Investment Growth Now Act or the ALIGN Act This bill makes permanent the expensing of certain new business equipment. Expensing allows the deduction of the full amount of an expense item in the same taxable year.
No Taxpayer Funding for Vaccine Passports Act of 2021 This bill prohibits the use of federal funds to develop a system that requires proof of an individual's COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) vaccination status as a condition of performing any action. If a state, territory, or locality implements such a system, it loses eligibility for specified COVID-19 relief funding.
No Irresponsible Recovery or Reinvestment Expenditures Supporting Priorities Outside Necessary Surface Infrastructure Built Legitimately and Expediently Spending Act or the No IRRESPONSIBLE Spending Act This resolution provides that it shall not be in order for the House of Representatives to consider a bill containing an appropriation or authorization of more than $100 billion relating to infrastructure if the bill does not provide at least 50% of those funds to specified programs, initiatives, or projects (e.g., the construction or maintenance of highways, railways, airports, and waterways). A question of order on this percentage may be raised at any time.
Resetting the Impact Act of 2021 or the TRIA Act of 2021 This bill requires certain data collection and recommendations relating to a Medicare post-acute care prospective payment system to incorporate the effects of COVID-19 on providers and patients. Current law requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission to develop a prototype for a unified Medicare payment system for post-acute care that is based primarily on patient characteristics (e.g., cognitive ability, functional status, or impairments) rather than the provider setting (e.g., skilled nursing facility, home health agency, inpatient rehabilitation facility, or long-term care hospital). The bill requires the prototype to account for the role of post-acute care providers during public health emergencies, particularly in light of the COVID-19 emergency and the related effects on such providers and their patients. The bill also delays the development of the prototype until two years after the later of January 1, 2022, and the date by which the CMS has collected eight calendar quarters of data after the emergency ends and other changes have been implemented.
Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program Enhancement Act This bill modifies the requirements for calculating taxable income to exclude from gross income payments under the federal veterinary medicine loan repayment program or any state loan repayment or forgiveness program that is intended to provide for increased access to veterinary services in such state.
Keep Vaccines Voluntary Act This bill requires businesses, institutions of higher education, and state and local governments that receive certain COVID-19 relief funds to certify that they will not limit access to services or otherwise discriminate on the basis of an individual's COVID-19 vaccination status.
This resolution condemns Iranian state-sponsored terrorist attacks against U.S. citizens and officials and Iranian dissidents and expresses support for the people of Iran who are engaged in legitimate and peaceful protests against the Iranian regime.
This resolution condemns the Chinese government's decision to hide the emergence and spread of COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) within China. It also calls for an investigation by public health officials from the United States and other affected countries into how China's actions contributed to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
This bill directs the Federal Aviation Administration to prohibit air carriers and the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) from denying an individual air or passenger rail transportation because such individual has not been vaccinated against COVID-19. Additionally, the bill prohibits the obligation or expenditure of federal funds (1) to create a database of individuals who have been vaccinated against COVID-19; or (2) by any federal agency to develop, implement, or enforce any federal law, rule, regulation, guidance, or policy denying individuals access to transportation or preventing such individual from traveling because they have not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Elaine M. Checketts Military Families Act This bill directs the Department of Defense to amend regulations to ensure that parental leave that has already been approved for a member of the Armed Forces who is a primary or secondary caregiver may not be terminated upon the death of the child for whom the leave was taken.
