Reduce Taxes on our Trucks Act

Maddy summaryThe Reduce Taxes on our Trucks Act repeals specific federal taxes on heavy trucks and trailers sold at retail. It removes three tax brackets (previously labeled (C), (D), and (E)) from the Internal Revenue Code’s Section 4051, which previously applied to these vehicles at the point of sale. The bill also adjusts the tax code structure by deleting related subsections and renumbering others to maintain consistency. This policy change would directly affect trucking businesses, dealers, and consumers purchasing heavy trucks or trailers, eliminating these taxes from the vehicle cost.
