Safe Bases Act

Safe Bases Act This bill provides statutory authority for the Department of Defense (DOD) to allow a service member to carry a concealed firearm while on any military installation. DOD must establish a single authority within the department to issue permits for this purpose. To be eligible for a permit, the service member must be on active duty and must not be prohibited under federal law from purchasing, owning, or possessing a firearm.

Religious Insignia on Dog Tags Act

Religious Insignia on Dog Tags Act This bill directs the Department of Defense (DOD) to allow trademarks owned or controlled by DOD to be combined with religious insignia on commercial identification tags (i.e., dog tags) and to be sold by lawful trademark licensees. The bill applies retroactively to September 13, 2013.

No taxpayer funding for United Nations Human Rights Council Act This bill prohibits the Department of State from making contributions to the United Nations Human Rights Council, either as a percentage of the U.S. contribution to the regular budget of the United Nations or as a voluntary contribution to the council.

Dr. Li Wenliang Congressional Gold Medal Act

Dr. Li Wenliang Congressional Gold Medal Act This bill directs Congress to make arrangements for the posthumous presentation of a gold medal in commemoration of Dr. Li Wenliang's efforts to save lives by drawing awareness to COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) and his call for transparency in China.

No Tax Breaks for Sanctuary Cities Act

No Tax Breaks for Sanctuary Cities Act This bill denies a tax exclusion for the interest on bonds issued by sanctuary jurisdictions. A sanctuary jurisdiction is a governmental entity that has a statute in effect that restricts cooperation with the federal government regarding the citizenship or immigration status of any individual or that prohibits compliance with a request by the Department of Homeland Security with a detainer for, or notification about the release of, an individual.

FRESH Trucking Act

Freedom from Regulating Edible Supplies and Horticulture Trucking Act or the FRESH Trucking Act This bill modifies service hour requirements for drivers transporting perishable agricultural, horticultural, or floricultural commodities. The bill requires the Department of Transportation to establish that loading and unloading of commercial motor vehicles shall be excluded from on-duty time requirements, there shall be no requirement of a 30-minute rest break within the first 8 hours of  the hours of service on-duty requirements and the carrier or driver may take breaks at any time during the trip, and such carrier or driver may complete a scheduled trip if they are over the hours of service maximum on-duty drive schedule and are within 150 miles of their scheduled delivery point.

Reopen Schools Act

Reopen Schools Act This bill requires a local educational agency (LEA) to reopen its elementary and secondary schools as a condition for receiving certain supplemental education emergency relief funding. Specifically, an LEA must provide in-person instruction to at least 50% of its students in order to receive the full funding. An LEA that provides in-person instruction to at least some of its students shall have its funding reduced on a pro rata basis.
