Student Mental Health Rights Act

Student Mental Health Rights Act This bill addresses mental health and substance use at institutions of higher education (IHEs). Specifically, the bill requires the Department of Education (ED) to conduct a study on mental health conditions and substance use conditions at IHEs. In addition, ED must issue guidance on IHEs' (1) compliance with federal law on mental health, (2) legal obligations to students with mental health conditions and students with substance use conditions, and (3) policies that may have a discriminatory impact on such students.

Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2021

Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2022 This bill makes various changes with respect to employer-sponsored retirement plans, including providing for the automatic enrollment of employees in certain plans and increasing the age at which participants are required to begin receiving mandatory distributions.

To establish the policy of the Department of Veterans Affairs on medicinal cannabis, and for other purposes.

This bill establishes an official policy of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on medicinal cannabis, requires the VA to seek to enter an agreement with a federally funded research and development center to conduct nationwide surveys to measure cannabis use by veterans, and requires the VA to provide training for all VA primary care providers in the use of medical cannabis.

FAIR Act of 2022

Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal Act of 2022 or the FAIR Act of 2022 This bill prohibits a predispute arbitration agreement from being valid or enforceable if it requires arbitration of an employment, consumer, antitrust, or civil rights dispute.

Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act

Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act This bill establishes grants and requires other activities to improve mental and behavioral health among health care providers. Specifically, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) must award grants to hospitals, medical professional associations, and other health care entities for programs to promote mental health and resiliency among health care providers. In addition, HHS may award grants for relevant mental and behavioral health training for health care students, residents, or professionals. Additionally, HHS must conduct a campaign to (1) encourage health care providers to seek support and treatment for mental and behavioral health concerns, and (2) disseminate best practices to prevent suicide and improve mental health and resiliency among health care providers. HHS must also study and develop policy recommendations on improving mental and behavioral health among health care providers, removing barriers to accessing care and treatment, and identifying strategies to promote resiliency. Furthermore, the Government Accountability Office must report on the extent to which relevant federal grant programs address the prevalence and severity of mental health conditions and substance use disorders among health care providers.

Condemning the killing of 14 individuals and violence on Bloody Sunday, one of the most tragic of days during the Troubles 50 years ago, and calling on all parties to take meaningful steps toward peace and reconciliation.

This resolution condemns the violence and killing of 14 individuals on Bloody Sunday 50 years ago in Northern Ireland and supports justice for the victims and their families. The resolution urges the full implementation of the Good Friday Agreement to ensure peace and stability in Ireland. The resolution recognizes the findings of the Bloody Sunday Inquiry, also known as the Saville Inquiry, and calls upon the United Kingdom to support the prosecutions of individuals who committed unjustifiable crimes on Bloody Sunday based on the evidence collected. Finally, this resolution urges the European Union, including the Republic of Ireland, and the United Kingdom to act in good faith with regard to negotiations around Brexit and implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of the United States to the journalists and news staff who are risking injury and death, are subject to grave threat, and have sacrificed their lives, to chronicle and report on the ongoing war in Ukraine resulting from Putin's invasion.

This resolution expresses that the House of Representatives declares its gratitude on behalf of the people of the United States to the journalists and news staff who continue to put themselves in harm's way to report on the humanitarian crisis and ongoing war on the ground in Ukraine following Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine; and honors the contributions of journalists and news staff reporting from the war in Ukraine as essential in the ongoing struggle for the rights of a free press and free speech internationally, pivotal in pushing back against false propaganda by tyrants, and crucial to informing Americans and the world of the horrors being wrought against the Ukrainian people.

MAGNET Act of 2022

Magnet schools Accessibility, Growth, and Nonexclusionary Enrollment Transformation Act of 2022 or the MAGNET Act of 2022 This bill reauthorizes through FY2025 and expands the Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP), which provides grants to eligible local educational agencies (LEAs) to establish and operate magnet schools that are operated under a court-ordered or federally approved voluntary desegregation plan. The bill authorizes a new grant program under MSAP to award grants to LEAs and state educational agencies for increasing diversity in magnet schools.

Into the Light for MMH and SUD Act of 2022

Into the Light for Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders Act of 2022 or the Into the Light for MMH and SUD Act of 2022 This bill reauthorizes through FY2028 a program that addresses maternal depression and, among other changes, expands its scope to include mental health and substance use disorders. It also requires the Department of Health and Human Services to maintain a national hotline to provide mental health and substance use disorder resources to pregnant and postpartum women and their families.
