Provides an assessed value deduction for individuals who are at least 65 years of age, who reside in their home and have owned their home for at least 5 years, and meet certain other specified criteria. Provides that the deduction amount is equal to $120,000.
Allows school corporations, charter schools, and accredited nonpublic schools to apply for a matching grant from the secured school fund to be used to provide funding for school employees to receive youth violence early intervention training or programming.
Amends the definition of "shelter" to include any other form of dwelling accommodation that the township trustee determines is safe, decent, and sanitary.
Establishes the community violence intervention fund (fund) to provide grants to nonprofit organizations providing community violence intervention programs. Provides that the criminal justice institute shall enter into an agreement with the Indianapolis Foundation to administer grant applications and award grants. Makes an appropriation.
Removes the expiration date of: (1) language requiring that a hospital that operates a maternity unit shall ensure a woman who is giving birth in the hospital and is either a Medicaid recipient or eligible for Medicaid has the option of having a long acting reversible subdermal contraceptive implanted after delivery; and (2) the corresponding requirement for reimbursement from the office of the secretary of family and social services to a hospital for certain costs related to providing a long acting reversible subdermal contraceptive to a Medicaid recipient. Requires that certain health care providers and hospitals ensure that a Medicaid recipient who gives birth schedules a follow-up appointment for postpartum care not later than 60 days from the date the woman gives birth.
