Inpatient mental health care for Medicaid children.

Requires a managed care organization to allow a child Medicaid recipient who has been certified for admission to a psychiatric hospital to be provided certain services that are determined by a treating physician to be necessary for the child for up to five business days before the managed care organization may require a continued review process.

Pregnancy and childbirth discrimination.

Prohibits an employer from discriminating against a pregnant employee. Requires an employer to provide reasonable employment accommodations for a pregnant employee. Requires the civil rights commission to investigate complaints and attempt to resolve complaints.

Gift package permit.

Establishes a gift package permit that allows a person who: (1) is solely engaged in the retail sale of gifts and flowers; and (2) does not have an interest in an alcoholic beverage permit; to sell and deliver gift packages that contain gifts, flowers, floral arrangements, potted plants, and beer and wine. Establishes requirements for: (1) hours; (2) verifying the age of purchasers and recipients; and (3) record keeping; of sales and deliveries of gift packages. Allows a minor to be on the licensed premises of a business with a gift package permit. Establishes a fee of $100 annually for a gift package permit that is deposited into the enforcement and administration fund of the alcohol and tobacco commission.

Interstate compact on curing diseases.

Establishes the solemn covenant of the states to award prizes for curing disease compact. Establishes responsibilities and duties within the compact. Provides for immunity for members, officers, executive director, employees, and representatives of the solemn covenant of states commission.

Paid family and medical leave program.

Requires the department of workforce development to establish a paid family and medical leave program to provide payments for employees who take family and medical leave. Establishes the family and medical leave fund to be funded with appropriations from the general assembly and payroll contributions. Specifies requirements for administration of the paid family and medical leave program. Provides for the department of workforce development to approve an employer's use of a private plan to meet the program obligations.

Prescription drug donation repositories.

Establishes the prescription drug donation repository program (program) to allow a person to donate prescription drugs and supplies to a central repository or local repository for use by an individual who is an eligible recipient or qualified individual. Provides that controlled substances are not allowed in the program. Allows a health care facility or pharmacy to elect to participate as a local repository in the program. Establishes criteria for the acceptance and distribution of donated prescription drugs and supplies. Establishes immunity for certain persons who act reasonably and in good faith under the program.

Birth control prescriptions.

Allows pharmacists to prescribe and dispense self-administered oral hormonal contraceptives and hormonal contraceptive patches (contraceptives). Establishes requirements for pharmacists who want to prescribe and dispense contraceptives. Requires health plans to provide coverage for contraceptives and certain services. Establishes an exception for nonprofit religious employers.
