Requires the secretary of family and social services to provide that the standards for services provided by recovery community organizations for behavioral health recovery, when used as a recovery community organization, be certified through a certain entity and meet other standards established by the division of mental health and addiction.
Provides that when a woman who is in premature labor presents to a hospital, the hospital must inform the woman of the hospital's capabilities of treating the born alive infant and managing a high risk pregnancy and, if the hospital's capabilities interfere with the woman's care, the hospital must provide this information before the woman is admitted to the hospital. Provides that if a born alive infant is transported to a hospital with an appropriate perinatal level of care, the woman must be offered an opportunity to be transported to the same hospital. Provides that if the local prosecuting attorney has probable cause to believe that a health care provider may have knowingly or intentionally: (1) violated the requirements concerning the treatment and care of a born alive infant or mother or the professional standards of practice, through the health care provider's actions or inactions; and (2) caused harm or death to the born alive infant or mother; the prosecuting attorney shall investigate the health care provider for appropriate criminal prosecution.
Requires an owner or operator of a public lodging establishment (establishment) to: (1) provide human trafficking awareness training for employees; (2) post human trafficking awareness signage; and (3) implement procedures for the reporting of suspected human trafficking and a human trafficking prevention policy. Requires the department of homeland security (department) to make a list available on the department's website of approved human trafficking training courses. Provides that an owner, operator, or employee of an establishment that complies in good faith with the requirements is not liable for an act or omission arising out of or related to human trafficking committed by a third party unless the owner, operator, or employee knowingly and willfully assists in the commission of human trafficking. Requires the department to maintain a list of establishments that are not in compliance with the requirements. Requires a state agency to ensure that lodging for an employee of the state agency is booked in an establishment that is not on the list. Requires the department to adopt rules to implement the requirements, including rules establishing a schedule of fines for a violation.
Prohibits the state, a state agency, and a political subdivision from entering into a contract with a prohibited person for the provision of goods or services. Amends the amount of a gift received from a foreign source that must be reported by a postsecondary educational institution. Prohibits certain individuals and business entities from purchasing real property located within Indiana. Permits the attorney general to investigate and issue subpoenas upon receipt of information that leads the attorney general to believe a violation of the critical infrastructure or foreign ownership of real property statutes has occurred. Permits the attorney general to bring an action on behalf of the state or a political subdivision for a violation of the critical infrastructure and foreign ownership of real property statutes.
Repeals provisions concerning the: (1) confiscation and retention of firearms from a dangerous person; (2) compilation and publication of statistics related to the confiscation and retention of firearms from a dangerous person; and (3) making of a false report that a person is dangerous. Modifies a provision concerning a petition to find that an individual is no longer dangerous.
