Provides that an unlicensed kinship caregiver is entitled to receive maintenance payments. Requires the department of child services (department) to calculate a maintenance payment for an unlicensed kinship caregiver in the same manner as a licensed foster parent. Allows the department to require foster care training for unlicensed kinship caregivers to receive maintenance payments.

Requires each school corporation to develop a plan: (1) to notify a child's parents if the child is a victim of bullying or if the child expresses suicidal thoughts; and (2) to provide the child's parents with certain suicide awareness materials and firearms storage materials.

Requires the state department to establish a data base for the reported data and sets forth additional requirements. Requires the state department to annually report certain stroke data to the governor and the executive director of the legislative services agency.

Provides that an automated tractor-trailer may not be operated on a highway to transport passengers or goods unless a human operator who meets all state and federal qualifications to operate a tractor-trailer is physically present in the automated tractor-trailer to monitor the performance of the automated tractor-trailer and to take control of all or part of the automated tractor-trailer's operation if necessary. Provides that an automated tractor-trailer operated in Indiana must meet federal motor vehicle standards and regulations.

Establishes a peer mentorship pilot program in the: (1) Indiana state prison; (2) New Castle Correctional Facility; (3) Branchville Correctional Facility; (4) Indiana women's prison; and (5) Putnamville Correctional Facility; to use peer mentors and other qualified individuals to provide counseling and other services to aid in the reentry of incarcerated individuals. Establishes within the department of correction a pilot grant program for housing for discharged incarcerated individuals, to be used to assist an individual in obtaining and maintaining housing.

Provides that knowingly or intentionally taking a motor vehicle from another person is robbery, a Level 4 felony. Provides enhancements. Makes a confirming change.
