TRS-6% CERTIFICATION EXEMPTION

Amends the Downstate Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that provisions concerning the employer's contribution for salary increases in excess of 6% do not apply to payments or stipends the teacher may receive for National Board certification. Effective immediately.

RURAL HEALTH TASK FORCE-REPORT

Extends the date by which the Joint Task Force on Rural Health must report its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006 and changes the name of the task force to the Joint Task Force on Rural Health and Medically Underserved Areas.

PHYS ASTNT-SUPERVSRY LMT-EMRGY

Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Allows a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches to enter into a supervising physician agreement with no more than 4, rather than 2, physician assistants at one time. Amends the Physician Assistant Practice Act. Provides that no more than 4, rather than 2, physician assistants shall be supervised by a supervising physician at one time and that an alternate supervising physician may supervise more than 4, rather than 2, physician assistants. Allows a physician assistant who is licensed under the Act, licensed or certified by another regulatory jurisdiction in the United States, or credentialed as a physician assistant by a federal employer to respond to a need for medical care created by a natural disaster, accident, or other emergency and to render the care that he or she is able to provide without supervision or with supervision, as it is available. Exempts a physician who supervises a physician assistant who is providing medical care in response to a natural disaster, accident, or other emergency from the requirements of the Act as they relate to supervising physicians. Effective immediately.

HEALTH CARE WORKPLACE-VIOLENCE

Amends the Health Care Workplace Violence Prevention Act. Increases the membership of the pilot project task force from 6 to 10, adding one representative of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; one representative of the Illinois Federation of Public Employees; and 2 representatives of the Department of Human Services, one representing the Division of Mental Health and the other representing the Division of Developmental Disabilities. Effective immediately.
