Amends the Illinois Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act. Creates a $200 credit for individual taxpayers who have custody or control of a student with good school attendance during the preceding school year. Provides that the credit may be claimed only once with respect to any one student any taxable year. Provides that the credit may not be carried forward or back and may not reduce the taxpayer's liability to less than zero. Effective immediately.
Amends the School Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the Common School Fund.
Declares July 26 of each year as Postal Workers Day in the State of Illinois.
Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law. Creates a new Section concerning river edge redevelopment. Contains a caption only.
Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act. Provides that a corporate income tax deduction for certain amounts paid or incurred by an interinsurer or reciprocal insurer to an attorney-in-fact: (i) applies on and after July 20, 1999; and (ii) is exempt from the Act's sunset provisions. Effective immediately.
Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that a person convicted of or placed on supervision for a sex offense as defined in the Sex Offender Management Board Act must wear an approved electronic monitoring device for the duration of the person's parole, mandatory supervised release, probation, conditional discharge, or supervision term if the unlawful activity involved a victim who was under 18 years of age and the person convicted of the sex offense is 18 years of age or older or if the person convicted of the sex offense is a sexual predator and the victim of the offense is under 18 years of age.
Urges the Department of Corrections to improve its transition program for readjustment of offenders who are released from prison.
Amends the Illinois Renewable Fuels Development Program Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the findings of the General Assembly.
