Amends the Eminent Domain Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Property Tax Code. In a Section concerning the alternative general homestead exemption, extends the alternative exemption by an additional 3 years. Provides that, to subject itself to the provisions of the alternative general homestead exemption, a county, if it has not previously done so, must adopt an ordinance to that effect within 6 months after the effective date of this amendatory Act. Provides that Cook County may elect, by an ordinance adopted within 6 months after the effective date of this amendatory Act, to extend the application of the alternative general homestead exemption for 3 additional assessment years. Provides that the maximum amount of the exemption is $60,000 if the general assessment year for the property is 2006 or later. Provides that the base year for counties other than Cook County is the 2005 or 2006 tax year. Makes other changes. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately.
Appropriates $1 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to further programs for the disabled and mentally ill. Effective July 1, 2008.
Creates the Internet Voting Commission Act. Creates a commission appointed by the legislative leaders to study and recommend to the General Assembly a system of voting via the Internet at elections in 2010 and thereafter. Abolishes the commission and repeals the Act January 1, 2009. Effective immediately.
Amends the Property Tax Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the definition of "33 1/3%".
Amends the State Finance Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Election Code. Creates the Campaign Expenditure Limits Study Commission to determine, and report to the General Assembly upon, campaign expenditure limits for candidates for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Comptroller, State Treasurer, State Senator, and State Representative. Provides for appointment of 6 Senators and 6 Representatives to the Commission by the legislative leaders. Requires that the Commission report to the General Assembly within 2 years and that the General Assembly pass legislation containing campaign expenditure limits within 3 years.
Amends the Shaken Baby Prevention Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Election Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
