TRANSPORTATION-TECH

Maddy summaryHB 5104 is a technical correction to the Illinois Vehicle Code's short title section (Section 1-100). It fixes a grammatical error in the citation language that incorrectly repeated "the" (e.g., "the the Illinois Vehicle Code"). This bill does not change any vehicle laws, regulations, or requirements affecting drivers, vehicle registration, or safety standards. It only updates how the code is formally cited in legal documents. The change is purely administrative and takes effect January 1, 2027.
