HR 1422: Enhanced Iran Sanctions Act of 2025

Enhanced Iran Sanctions Act of 2025 This bill imposes sanctions on certain foreign persons (individuals and entities) that are involved in Iran's petroleum sector as well as certain associated persons. The bill also requires or authorizes actions to facilitate the enforcement of sanctions on Iran. Specifically, the bill requires the President to impose visa- and property-blocking sanctions on any foreign person that, after the bill's enactment, knowingly engages in any transaction related to the processing, export, or sale of oil, condensates, gas, liquefied natural gas, or other petrochemical products in whole or in part from Iran. The President must also impose sanctions on certain foreign persons associated with a sanctioned individual or entity. For example, the President must sanction the subsidiaries and corporate officers of a sanctioned business. The bill provides certain exceptions to these sanctions, including specifying that sanctions do not apply to the importation of goods or to conducting or facilitating transactions for humanitarian assistance. The Department of State must establish an interagency working group that shall seek to establish a multilateral contact group to coordinate international efforts to enforce sanctions on Iran. The bill expands the State Department rewards program to authorize a reward payment to any individual who furnishes information leading to the identification of a person (1) subject to sanctions under this bill, or (2) that has attempted or is attempting to evade sanctions under this bill.

HR 7925: American Families First Assistance Act

This bill, titled the American Families First Assistance Act, would restrict eligibility for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits for most aliens in the United States. It directly affects non-citizen immigrants by removing their ability to receive federal cash assistance for low-income families under the existing welfare program. The key provision amends the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 to disqualify qualified aliens from TANF block grants, with specific exceptions for certain categories of immigrants including nationals of Cuba. This change would limit access to financial support for families with children who are not U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.

HR 6062: To transfer administrative jurisdiction over certain parcels of federal land in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and for other purposes.

HR 6062 transfers approximately 25 acres of federal land from the Department of the Interior (DOI) to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for its Advanced Training Center in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, while returning about 71.51 acres from CBP back to DOI to expand Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. The bill requires adjusting park boundaries to exclude the transferred CBP land and include the returned land, with a survey finalizing exact boundaries. It specifies no monetary reimbursement for the transfers and allows CBP to revert unused land back to DOI for park inclusion. The transfer relies on a specific 2021 National Park Service map for land descriptions.

S 4016: Stop Unemployment Fraud Act

This bill, titled the Stop Unemployment Fraud Act, requires states to verify the identity of unemployment compensation claimants using government-issued IDs and supporting documents, while also mandating data matching with systems like the National Directory of New Hires to detect fraud. It prohibits states from relying solely on a claimant's self-attestation to prove eligibility and strengthens work search requirements by mandating that claimants maintain and submit weekly records of job search activities. The legislation also allows states to use up to 5% of recovered overpayments or collected contributions to fund fraud prevention efforts, technology upgrades, and proper employment classification systems.

HR 7846: Halo Act

This bill, known as the Halo Act, creates a new federal crime for intentionally approaching or staying within 25 feet of immigration enforcement officers after receiving a verbal warning, if the person intends to interfere with their work, threaten them, or harass them. It directly affects individuals who may attempt to block or disrupt immigration officers performing their duties, such as during arrests or investigations. The law defines harassment as conduct that causes substantial emotional distress to an officer and serves no legitimate purpose, and it carries penalties of up to five years in prison, a fine, or both. This provision adds to existing Title 18 United States Code by establishing specific boundaries for behavior near federal immigration officials.

HJRES 151: Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Bureau of Land Management relating to "Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Record of Decision and Approved Resource Management Plan".

H.J. Res. 151 seeks to block a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rule that established management guidelines for Utah's Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The resolution, introduced in March 2026, uses the Congressional Review Act to request Congress disapprove the rule, which was issued in January 2025 and submitted for review. If enacted, the resolution would prevent the rule from taking effect, meaning the BLM would not be required to follow the specific management plan outlined in that rule. This action directly affects the monument's management, as the rule governed activities like land use and conservation within the protected area.

The law would also require that any money collected through these fees be used only for activities that directly support recreational boating, boater safety, waterway access, and aquatic invasive species mitigation.

S 3931: TAS Act

This bill, titled the Taxpayer Assistance and Service Act, aims to improve services provided to taxpayers by the Internal Revenue Service through a series of administrative and procedural changes. S 3938: TAP Promotion Act

This bill, known as the TAP Promotion Act, would allow representatives from recognized veterans service organizations to join presentations that inform service members about benefits they can access after leaving the military. These presentations are part of the Transition Assistance Program, which helps veterans prepare for civilian life, and the law requires that they be standardized and approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs before being used. The bill also mandates that the presentations include information on how veterans service organizations can help with filing benefit claims, while prohibiting any effort to encourage members to join a specific organization. Additionally, the Department of Veterans Affairs must submit an annual report to Congress detailing which organizations participated in these sessions and how many service members attended.

S 3917: The Dalilah Law

S 3917, "The Dalilah Law," prohibits states from issuing or renewing commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) to individuals who are not U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or certain nonimmigrant visa holders (like H-2B workers). It requires all current CDL holders to recertify within 180 days of enactment, verifying citizenship/residency status, English proficiency, and passing English-language tests. States that fail to enforce these requirements face withholding of federal transportation funding. The law directly affects commercial drivers and state licensing agencies, with specific rules for visa holders and English language requirements for CDL operations.

S 3915: Specialty CROP Act of 2026
