RELATING TO A STATE BREAST MILK BANK.

Maddy summarySB 1211 would create a state-run breast milk bank operated by the Department of Health, directly serving infants and mothers who rely on donated breast milk for medical or nutritional needs. The bill establishes a dedicated "breast milk bank special fund" and appropriates state funding to support the bank's operations, including collection, screening, and distribution of donated milk. Key provisions require the Department of Health to manage the bank, set safety standards, and use the special fund for related costs. The bill is currently pending in committee after a public hearing was held but has not yet advanced further.
